weight loss and "salads"

Good morning...First, I would ask you to check the comments that people write in response to my entries...many of them have lots of great suggestions and yesterday there was a particularly insightful comment that may help lots of people who travel...check it out and "Anonymous"..thanks for posting it!

When we hear/think of the word "salad" we equate this with healthy eating. I just wanted to bring up the point that it most certainly depends what is in that salad. For an extreme example, the calorie count of a "premium" salad at McDonalds, with the dressing, is more than their quarter pounder with cheese. When a salad is loaded up with high fat cheese, nuts, fruits and other ingredients that are high fat components, the salad is then no different than eating a sabotaging food source.

Clearly, a salad based on vegetables, low fat protein, no croutons etc will be a much better choice.
