It is very interesting that people's concentration on their weight loss efforts wax and wane depending on the season. Most certainly, after the Christmas New Years holidays, many people focus on their "New Years Resolution" to lose weight. During the holidays most people are thinking about the holiday events and not concentrating on their efforts.
The early and late spring are very wild months in our office becaiuse many people feel an urgency to lose weight prior to summer/weight loss season. June, with graduations, vacations starting etc is a month of lesser activity.
Take a step back and see whether YOU have a seasonal basis to your weight loss/weight gain cycles and figure out a way to NOT let this seasonal variation occur to you. We have discussed previously the "5 pound rule" meaning that every week, reord your weight and if you ever see 5 pounds cumulatively go back on from when you left our program, come back in for one visit as a "tune-up" Not very costly and will stop the cycle of the weight loss/weight gain. We are also offering a very unique maintenance program that includes free visits so contact us for more details.
Losing weight is very difficult and seasonal contributions can affect your progress. Be cognizant of them and act on them!

staying darker outside....
As the summer progresses and we are headed to fall, it is clearly noticable that it remains darker in the early morning hours. It is easier to wake up to a sunrise, put those sneakers on and get your morning workout in. When it is dark, and especially when it turns cooler, it is much easier to turn over and go back to sleep.
Adjusting your exercise regimen to the seasons is very important because I have many patients, who tell me that when it is cold outside, they do not get out for as much exercise. (word of the day: Paul) Therefore, during the darker/colder months, if that person does not adjust his/her dietary intake, weight loss will slow down.
Take stock of your caloric burn-off modes, and how the seasonal changes may affect this. I would suggest that you either adjust your dietary patterns or consider alternative workouts to make up for the lack of early morning, "it is light outside" exercise.
